It's official... Pasco County's first Whataburger location since 2009 is opening on Wednesday, April 16th at 11am in Lutz! If you've been driving past the construction on Sierra Center Boulevard and wondering when it's finally going to open, now you have your answer. The wait is almost over.
Where Is It?
The new Whataburger is located at 25340 Sierra Center Blvd, Lutz, FL 33559, right near the intersection of SR 56 and Wesley Chapel Blvd, just across from the Tampa Premium Outlets. If you know the area, this is the spot where Aussie Grill used to be.
A Little Whataburger History
For anyone who hasn't experienced Whataburger before, you're in for something special. The chain was founded in Corpus Christi, Texas back in 1950 and has grown into one of the most beloved fast-food brands in the South. They're known for big, made-to-order burgers using fresh (never frozen) beef, and they've built a seriously passionate fanbase over the years. This Lutz location is part of Whataburger's big return to the Tampa Bay area. They've been quietly planning a major expansion across the region, with eight restaurants planned by the end of 2027. The Largo location already opened earlier this year, and the Lutz spot will be the first to open in Pasco County since 2009, when they last had a location in Zephyrhills.
