SUMMARY:Starkey Ranch District Park Recreational Youth Basketball League — Evaluation Day
DESCRIPTION:Sign-ups for Starkey Recreational Youth Basketball open on February 16th at 8:00am! 🏀 \nThis season will look a little bit different than last year. Due to maintenance that took place in the Gymnasium\, School events in April\, and the timing of Spring Break we have had to push the season back\, so it will start a little later than last year. We have adjusted based not only on the start date\, but also things that we noticed from last year that could be improved. Please see below for important details before you decide to sign up for the upcoming season: \nAge is based on your child’s age as of April 25th (The first game of the season)\n*Please add your child to your Rec account (https://flpascocountyweb.myvscloud.com/webtrac/web/) prior to signing up\, to ensure you sign them up under their name and DOB\, and not your own. Please note whether jersey size is adult or youth when sign-ups open (ex. YL\, AL). \n\nDetails About the League:\n• This Spring Season will consist of 6 games (No Playoffs)\n• There will be four teams in each division\, and each team will play each other twice.\n• Games will be inside the Starkey K-8 Gymnasium on Saturdays. Game times will vary by the week but will always be one of these two-time frames:\n• 8-10 Division – 10:30am or 11:30am\n• 11-13 Division – 12:30pm or 1:30pm\n• Practices will be held on the outside courts behind Starkey K-8 and will either be on a Tuesday or Thursday (Day will be determined by the coach)\n• *Pasco County Parks and Recreation only have access for those two days*\nImportant Dates:\n• Evaluation: March 21st (10:30am for 8-10 division and 12:00pm for 11-13 division). This evaluation will consist of very simple drills for coaches to draft teams and make league as fair as possible. Coaches will then contact parents.\n• We cannot take practice day requests or coach requests from parents. Your child will be drafted based off their evaluation and practice time will be determined by coach. Only a coach’s child will be automatically assigned to their team.\n• Week of April 6th (Practices begin. Coaches will also have the option to practice inside on Saturday April 18th).\n• Season Begins: Games will be on April 25th\, May 2nd\, May 9th\, May 23rd\, May 30th\, and June 6th. Bye Week on May 16th.\nMore Information:\n• Coaches are needed\, if you are interested in coaching\, please contact Heritage Park at (813)929-1229.\n• **This is a recreational development league. Please keep this in mind when signing up your child. This league is intended to develop knowledge and skills of basketball.
